Plant-DiTech PlantArray Phenotyping Systems in India

Plant-DiTech develops physiological plant phenotyping systems and software for researchers and breeders. The company was founded on a technology developed at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem by Professors Menachem Moshelion and Rony Wallach, specialists in plant stress physiology and in soil and water science, and is based in Yavne, Israel.
Its PlantArray platform measures how each plant uses water, continuously and non-destructively, while controlling irrigation and treatments plant by plant. That makes it a direct tool for drought, salinity, flooding and nutrient research, and for screening genotypes for water-use efficiency.
JKG BioScience supplies Plant-DiTech systems in India and supports them with layout planning, installation, training and service, and with the controlled-environment chambers and rooms that phenotyping experiments run in.

Product range

Plant-DiTech Products We Supply

High-throughput functional phenotyping: one load-cell lysimeter per plant, plant-by-plant irrigation and continuous whole-plant measurements.
Cloud software that turns soil–plant–atmosphere data into traits such as transpiration, water-use efficiency and biomass gain, with real-time statistics.

MultiFerti add-on

Run several fertigation, nutrient or salinity treatments side by side in one experiment.

Sensors add-on

Additional soil and atmosphere sensors to enrich each experiment’s data.

Flood Control Kit

Apply controlled flooding events, alone or combined with salinity or nutrient treatments.

Research uses

What Researchers Use PlantArray For

Research questionHow PlantArray helps
Drought toleranceHold each plant at a defined drought stage and compare transpiration and recovery between genotypes
Water-use efficiencyMeasure water used and biomass gained per plant, every day of the experiment
SalinityApply salt treatments and gradients with MultiFerti and follow growth and transpiration
Flooding and low oxygenRun controlled flood events with the Flood Control Kit
Nutrients and biostimulantsCompare fertigation treatments in a single experiment
Breeding and pre-breedingScreen many genotypes for physiological traits that field trials take seasons to show

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes. JKG BioScience supplies Plant-DiTech PlantArray systems and add-ons in India, with layout planning, installation, user training and support.

Each plant sits on its own load-cell lysimeter, so PlantArray continuously measures whole-plant weight and calculates transpiration, water-use efficiency, biomass gain, stomatal conductance and related traits for every plant, while controlling irrigation plant by plant.

In greenhouses, growth rooms and controlled-environment chambers. Tell us the space, pot size and number of plants and we will plan the layout.

Plant-DiTech’s cloud software for PlantArray. It tracks soil, plant and atmosphere data, calculates physiological traits and runs real-time statistics such as ANOVA and t-tests.

The MultiFerti fertigation add-on for several nutrient or salinity treatments, the Sensors add-on for extra soil and atmosphere measurements, and the Flood Control Kit for controlled flooding experiments.

Cost depends on the number of units, add-ons and software. Send us your experimental design and we will quote.
