Plant Growth Chambers in India for Research Laboratories

JKG BioScience supplies plant growth chambers in India to universities, agricultural research institutes and laboratories that need repeatable control of light, temperature, humidity and CO₂. The range runs from compact reach-in cabinets to walk-in growth rooms, and includes the JKG Universal Series, manufactured for JKG by Percival, alongside Percival models for specialised work.
A controlled environment chamber lets you hold the conditions that matter to your experiment, change one variable at a time, and repeat the same protocol next season. Use this page to choose a chamber type, compare the JKG-41 and JKG-66, and work through the questions that decide a specification.
Shown with the optional touchscreen controller. A keypad controller is supplied as standard.

How to Choose a Plant Growth Chamber

Six questions settle most specifications. Answer them before you request a quotation or write tender specifications, and the comparison between suppliers becomes like for like.
1

Format and scale

Count the plants, pots or vessels per experiment and the number of treatments you must run at the same time. Replicated experiments with trays on shelves usually suit reach-in chambers; large populations, tall plants or teams working inside suit a walk-in growth room.
2

Light intensity, spectrum and photoperiod

Light is specified as photosynthetic photon flux density (µmol/m²/s) at a stated distance from the lamps. More tiers give more shelf area but less growing height and, usually, lower intensity per tier. Decide whether you need white light only or control of red, blue and far-red, and whether tiers must be dimmed independently. See specialized lighting chambers.
3

Temperature range and stability

Note the lowest and highest set points with lights on and off. Standard plant growth configurations in the JKG Universal Series hold ±0.5 °C; cold-hardiness or vernalization work may need an extended low-temperature range.
4

Humidity and CO₂

Humidity and additive CO₂ control are options on suitable models. A humidity option needs a demineralised water supply, so plan the water source along with the chamber.
5

Shelf area and growing height

Compare usable shelf area (m²) and maximum growing height (cm) against your tallest plants at the end of the experiment, not at sowing.
6

Controls, data and the site

Check programming of day–night cycles and ramps, data logging and remote alarms. Allow clearance around the cabinet and a stable room climate; we confirm site requirements before delivery.
Why JKG BioScience

Supply, Installation and Service for Growth Chambers

JKG BioScience has served research laboratories since 2003, with more than 1,000 installations for over 200 customers across 28+ states and union territories. For plant growth chambers that means one team for application advice, technical specifications, delivery, installation and commissioning, and long-term service.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to the questions we hear most. Can’t find what you need? Our team will help.

The price depends on the chamber type and size, the number of lit tiers, light intensity, and options such as humidity, CO₂, LED lighting and an extended temperature range. Share your application and required conditions and we will send a quotation for the configuration that meets them.

JKG BioScience is a supplier and service provider. The JKG Universal Series (JKG-41 and JKG-66) is manufactured for JKG by Percival, and we also supply Percival chambers. We handle selection, supply, installation and service in India.

A reach-in chamber is a self-contained cabinet with shelves, suited to replicated experiments in a laboratory. A walk-in room is a room-size structure you step into, suited to many or tall plants and to several people working at once. See reach-in chambers and walk-in rooms.

Arabidopsis is usually grown on compact tiers with even, moderate light. The JKG-41 AR and JKG-66 AR series are configured for it. See Arabidopsis chambers.

Yes, as options on suitable models. Humidity control needs a demineralised water supply. Additive CO₂ control is available with different sensor ranges; see customized solutions for the option list.

Yes. Tell us the application, conditions and capacity you need, and we will provide technical specifications and model details for your purchase file.

JKG provides installation and commissioning, annual maintenance contracts, preventive maintenance and breakdown support for the chambers it supplies.
