The MRC Laboratory Bioreactor/Fermentor FS Series is a bench-top system for controlled microbial fermentation and cell culture. Interchangeable, autoclavable glass vessels from 0.5 L to 20 L let one platform cover early screening through process development, and a parallel configuration lets one controller run two vessels side by side.
Compared with shake flasks, a bioreactor controls and records the conditions that decide yield and reproducibility, such as temperature, mixing, aeration, pH and feeding, so results can be repeated and scaled.
