Tissue Culture Chambers

Plant tissue culture growth chambers: Percival CU-series with slow vertical airflow and PetriClear LED lighting that reduces condensation on Petri dishes, for plant tissue, fungi, bacteria and yeast.

Tissue Culture Growth Chambers for Plant Cell and Tissue Culture

A tissue culture growth chamber keeps plates, Petri dishes, jars and flasks at an even temperature under gentle, low-heat light. In an ordinary plant growth chamber the lamps warm the shelf above and cause condensation inside closed vessels, which encourages contamination and uneven growth. Plant tissue culture chambers are engineered to prevent both.
JKG supplies Percival CU-series plant tissue culture chambers in India, in 22, 30, 36 and 41 cabinet sizes. Each uses slow, vertical airflow and PetriClear LED lighting to protect cultures, and suits fungi, bacteria and yeast as well as plant tissue.

How a Plant Tissue Culture Chamber Protects Your Cultures

Slow, vertical airflow

An air diffuser moves air gently upward, insulating each shelf from the heat of the light fixture beneath it.

Less condensation

Even shelf temperature and PetriClear infrared LEDs keep vessel lids above dew point, reducing condensation and contamination risk.

Precise temperature control

±0.5 °C from 10 to 44 °C, held evenly across every shelf.

Low-heat, dimmable light

PetriClear lighting dims in 1% steps and adds little heat to the cultures.

Multiple tiers

Four or five tiers on 36 and 41 cabinets give up to 3.2 m² of shelf area for vessels.

Optional SciBrite LEDs

Add adjustable-spectrum lighting to one tier for light-quality studies on cultures.

Lighting

PetriClear Lighting for Tissue Culture

PetriClear is a dual-channel lighting system that combines white LEDs (6000 K, CRI 90) with infrared LEDs. The infrared gently raises the lid temperature of unstacked Petri dishes above the dew point, preventing condensation, minimising contamination and giving consistent, uniform growth. It is also ideal for culturing fungi, bacteria and yeast.

Choosing a Plant Tissue Culture Incubator

Vessel type and height

Five tiers give 17 cm per shelf for plates and dishes; four tiers give 23.5 cm for jars and flasks.

Capacity

From 0.6 m² on the bench-top CU-30L2 to 3.2 m² on the CU-41L5.

Light level

170–200 µmol/m²/s suits most culture stages; tiers can be dimmed for lower light.

Stacked or unstacked dishes

PetriClear works best on unstacked dishes, where infrared reaches every lid.

Dual compartments

The CU-22 has two separately controlled compartments for paired conditions in one footprint.

Lighted incubators

For cultures that need very low or no light, see the lighted and non-lighted incubators.

Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to the questions we hear most. Can’t find what you need? Our team will help.

In a standard chamber the lamps warm the shelf above, causing condensation inside closed vessels. Tissue culture chambers use slow vertical airflow and low-heat PetriClear lighting to keep shelves even and lids dry.

No. Tissue culture needs different refrigeration and airflow, so it is supplied as the Percival CU series rather than in the JKG Universal Series.

Yes. PetriClear lighting and the CU chambers’ even conditions also suit fungi, bacteria and yeast.

170 to 200 µmol/m²/s at 15 cm, depending on the model, dimmable in 1% steps.

Price depends on cabinet size, number of tiers and options. Send us your vessel types and quantities and we will quote.

Yes. JKG provides installation and commissioning, annual maintenance contracts and breakdown support.
