Frequently Asked Questions
Why not use a standard plant growth chamber for tissue culture?
In a standard chamber the lamps warm the shelf above, causing condensation inside closed vessels. Tissue culture chambers use slow vertical airflow and low-heat PetriClear lighting to keep shelves even and lids dry.
Is the JKG-41 or JKG-66 available for tissue culture?
No. Tissue culture needs different refrigeration and airflow, so it is supplied as the Percival CU series rather than in the JKG Universal Series.
Can I culture fungi, bacteria or yeast?
Yes. PetriClear lighting and the CU chambers’ even conditions also suit fungi, bacteria and yeast.
What light intensity do tissue culture chambers give?
170 to 200 µmol/m²/s at 15 cm, depending on the model, dimmable in 1% steps.
What does a tissue culture growth chamber cost?
Price depends on cabinet size, number of tiers and options. Send us your vessel types and quantities and we will quote.
Do you install and service tissue culture chambers?
Yes. JKG provides installation and commissioning, annual maintenance contracts and breakdown support.
